Stiles: Did Ford just raise the price-tag for his pay-to-play schemes?

QUEEN’S PARK – Marit Stiles, Leader of the Ontario NDP, demanded answers from the Labour Minister during question period today about Ford’s decision to raise the maximum donation limit in the middle of a pay-to-play scandal:

“Doug Ford is a jobs disaster.

“Ontarians are losing their jobs, struggling to afford groceries, worried about losing their homes. But what is the Premier’s priority? Raising donation limits and upping the ticket price on fundraisers.

“While workers lie awake at night wondering how they will pay their next bill, the Premier is busy rewriting the rules to make it easier for his friends, donors, and well-connected insiders to benefit.

“With the latest changes to donation rules, the Premier has just slapped a ‘for sale’ sign on the future of our province and our democracy.”
